As a responsible credit provider, we consider a number of factors as part of our assessment process. When you apply for a Zip account, we may perform identity and/or credit checks to verify your details and confirm you can comfortably make repayments.
These checks are performed in accordance with our Privacy Electronic Authorisation and Privacy Policy, which you agree to when starting your application.
Our assessment process will also determine the credit limit we can offer based on your application:
- Zip Pay: Has a maximum credit limit of $1,000 on application. If you are approved for a lower credit limit, over time and with good repayment history you may become eligible for a credit limit increase. For more information please click here.
- Zip Money: You may be eligible for a credit limit increase once you've been using your account for at least 6 months, and demonstrate good repayment history with minimal to no missed repayments.
Once this process is complete, we'll let you know what credit limit you have been approved for through the Zip app, Web wallet or via email. If you've applied for the wrong amount, please get in touch with our Customer Experience team.
