Your regular electricity or gas bill will often display usage or supply charges, usage charges is the amount you pay per kilowatt (electricity) or megajoule (gas). Whereas supply charges are the fees passed on from the retailer to have your service connected.
You will pay these supply charges as long as electricity and/or gas is supplied to your home or business.
Your usage charge may vary if you’re away from home for a number of weeks, but your supply charge will remain the same throughout this period.
